Carole DeWald's experience covers a wide spectrum of litigation with her practice focusing on commercial, insurance coverage, product liability, higher education, and employment litigation. Representing companies and individuals, she has trial court and appellate experience in both federal and state courts. In the area of employment litigation, she has handled all types of cases involving discrimination and harassment, retaliation, Family and Medical Leave Act, defamation, and noncompetition litigation. She also has counseled employers on employment issues and reviewed employment handbooks for legal compliance.

Ms. DeWald graduated from Washburn University School of Law (cum laude) in 1991 and served on the Washburn Law Review editorial board. After law school, she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Bob Abbott of the Kansas Supreme Court and then to the Honorable Patrick F. Kelly and the Honorable Thomas G. Van Bebber of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Ms. DeWald also has been an adjunct professor for Emporia State University and Ottawa University, teaching a variety of classes on business law, employment law, health care law, and ethics.
